Rocca a Mare Comes to Life: A Visual Story of Heritage & Hospitality

Perched in the heart of Heraklion with sweeping views of the Aegean Sea, Rocca a Mare has officially opened its doors this May as part of the prestigious Handwritten Collection by Accor. To mark its debut, a carefully curated photoshoot led by Trésor Hospitality, with photography by Stathis Bouzoukas, captured the soul of the hotel in a compelling visual narrative.

From the interior design of rooms and suites to the elegant lobby, the shoot brought out the property’s modern Mediterranean identity, enriched with subtle references to Minoan culture. Natural textures, earthy tones, and curated décor revealed a warm and refined atmosphere, while moments like breakfast in bed and Aegean Sea views during golden hour added a sense of calm and timeless charm to the visual story.

The spotlight turned to Rocca Bistro, where Mediterranean dishes crafted with local ingredients were styled to reflect the hotel's focus on authenticity and elevated simplicity. Meanwhile, the rooftop pool and Rocca Cloud offered moments of serenity, with stunning Aegean views and lifestyle scenes that captured the essence of summer in Crete.

Extending into the surrounding area, the shoot also captured nearby landmarks such as the Koules Fortress, highlighting the hotel’s close connection to the rich cultural and historical landscape of Heraklion.
